Your Parenting Plan Hourly Distribution Report

View Child Care Time, Overnight Stays and Day Visits, Graphed by Day, Month and Year

The Hourly Distribution Report graphically shows how your Parenting Plan child's care time is actually distributed, by hour, day, month, and year. The report provides you with all your calendar overnight stays, day visits, and hourly data at a glance. It also provides a chart showing how the care time hours are distributed across the days of the week.

The most important function of the Hourly Distribution Report however is for locating errors and warnings that would make the Care Time and Quality Time reports less reliable. For example overnight stays or day visits without pickup or drop off times or overnight stays or day visits with overlapping times might seriously compromise both the Care Time and the Quality Time reports.

The Hourly Distribution Report performs a check of all pick up and drop off times and provides errors or warnings if pickup or drop off times are missing, if overnight stays overlap, or if a day visit overlaps an overnight stay.

If times haven't been entered, the hourly distribution report will be based on the Parenting Time Calendar's default times so, if you are interested in the Care Time and/or Quality Time reports, you should be sure to enter accurate times for your parenting plan and remove all errors and warnings.

If you are only interested in counters and percentages and the visual markings on the calendar, you can ignore most of the errors and warnings generated by the Hourly Distribution Report.

The errors and warnings found by the Hourly Distribution Report can be printed out making it an easy task to correct them so you will have a high degree on confidence in the Care Time and Quality Time reports.

Features of the Hourly Distribution Report include:

  • A Summary Header -- which provides the name of the calendar, the date and time the report was created, the date range, and counter totals and percentages for the secondary care giver (non-custodial parent).
  • Overnight Stay Graph -- Each overnight stay is scaled and drawn to show its pick up and drop off time. Errors and warnings (such as missing pick up and drop off times) are shown in red and are included in an error report which may be printed or displayed on your monitor.
  • Day Visit Graph -- Each day visit is scaled and drawn to show its pick up and drop off time. Again, errors and warnings (such as missing pick up and drop off times) are shown in red and are included in an error report which may be printed or displayed on your monitor.
  • Day of Week Table -- The table shows the number of overnight stays, day visits, and total time for each day of the week.
  • The Hourly Distribution report can be printed or saved as a bitmap (.bmp) or jpeg (.jpg) image file for convenient emailing.

The hourly distribution report is virtually identical for both the single year calendar and the 2-year calendar programs except of course the 2-year program produces two pages (one for each year). The two pages are useful for a coarse comparison.

To print the Hourly Distribution Report you need a Windows(TM) compatible, graphics capable printer.

Depending on your printer capabilities, the hourly distribution report can be sized to print on any size paper stock.
